Muslims and Catholics United for the Common Good

On the 19th of March, Rethink Rebuild Society Managing Director Dr. Haytham Alhamwi participated in a joint meeting between Muslims and Catholics from across Greater Manchester held in the Cathedral Centre, Salford.
The purpose of the meeting was to assert bonds of friendship, trust and mutual understanding between faith communities, and to initiate joint cooperation in supporting refugees and asylum seekers through the Community Sponsorship Scheme. Guest speakers alongside Dr. Alhamwi included Fr Eamonn Mulcahy, Director of the Spiritan Missionaries and Sean Ryan MBE, Caritas National Coordinator for Community Sponsorship, and a respected Imam scholar, Shaykh Hammad Fahim.
Dr Alhamwi had a message at the event's end to all cooperating parties, “Be the extended family that refugees need. Human, spiritual support is more important than money”.
