On Wednesday the 18th of April, we hosted an information session about airport security checks. The session was delivered by Detective Chief Inspector Janet Hudson, Counter Terrorism Policing: North West, in addition to three officers from GMP’s Counter Terrorism Unit.
Taking the form of a Q&A session, the session saw a lively interaction between the audience and members of the panel. Topics covered included: Schedule 7 legislation, the definition of a border area and the different agencies operating there, the nature of examination and questioning, the grounds for stopping and questioning people, and the types of questions asked.
The session attracted a large number of attendants and our multi-facility room was full.
