Jo Cox’s compassion on Syria had no borders – nor should ours

In a joint article between Dr. Yasmine Nahlawi (Rethink Rebuild Society), Dr. Mohamad Isreb (Syrian Association of Yorkshire), and Kellie Strohm (Friends of Syria APPG and Syria Solidarity UK) published in i News (and a shorter version in The Times), we reflected on the first anniversary to the brutal murder of late Jo Cox MP and her important and passionate work for Syria during her time in Parliament. Jo was an unreservedly outspoken advocate for civilian protection in Syria, and importantly she understood that the conflict represented so much more than a refugee crisis. The article honoured Jo's legacy but lamented that her work on Syria has not been honoured in Westminster.
